Maker Group: Global Mamas
Global Mamas was founded in 2003 as a non-profit organization aiming to transform the lives of women entrepreneurs in Ghana by helping build their business. Focusing on creating prosperity for African women and their families, Global Mamas has grown from consulting to production of hand batiked textiles, recycled glass beads, and shea butter. Throughout the decades, the Mamas have been able to purchase new equipment, support their children's education through all levels of school (including university), open shops, and build homes. Global Mamas now comprises of nearly 350 producers from seven different communities. Global Mamas is committed to sustainable growth and since inception has created hundreds of jobs in Ghana.
